FINE ART REGISTRY RETAINS MICHIGAN LEGAL FIRM, KAUFMAN, PAYTON & CHAPA TO REPRESENT THEM AGAINST MERITLESS SUIT FROM ART DEALER, PARK WEST GALLERY

(Phoenix, AZ — May 27, 2008)   Global Fine Art Registry, LLC. has retained the Michigan legal firm of Kaufman, Payton & Chapa to represent them against Park West Gallery defamation and slander suits filed in Michigan. Park West Gallery complains that the Fine Art Registry™ advocacy actions and informational articles about the art dealer’s activities, particularly art "auctions" conducted aboard many cruise ships, have adversely affected its relationship with its customers and the buying public. Park West Gallery filed suits against the Phoenix company, Global Fine Art Registry, LLC, one of the company's contracted writers, and against a California dealer who specializes in the works of Salvador Dali.

Founded in 1975, Kaufman, Payton & Chapa, now has offices in Farmington Hills, Detroit and Grand Rapids and represents clients throughout the state. Known for the aggressiveness and tenacity of it attorneys and its results-oriented approach to cases, the firm represents clients in trial and appellate matters large and small.

According to attorney Ralph C. Chapa, Jr., "The allegations raised in the complaints against Fine Art Registry, Theresa Franks and David Phillips are devoid of any factual or legal merit and they will be vigorously defended to a conclusion."

Fine Art Registry CEO, Theresa Franks, said, "We were impressed by Kaufman, Payton & Chapa and are confident that they will help us rapidly put an end to what we consider frivolous and predatory suits on the part of Park West Gallery. We have more than adequate documentation, including more than 70 documented complaints from victims, to defend any statements we have made about Park West Gallery's business practices. We are glad to have a law firm representing us that sees our point of view and will defend us and represent us in any counterclaims we file for defamatory letters, email, and phone communications by Park West Gallery and its lawyers to our members."
